Sat Jan 28, 2012 CANINE LEARNING EXPERIENCE, Agricultural Hall at the AgriPlex, Allentown PA
Vendors, activities, educational programs, AKC obedience match and puppy sweepstakes, tattoo and eye clinics. Leashed dogs welcome. The ILWC will not have a booth at this event, but several of our members attend with our LHWs, and always attract attention. Good shopping, lots of people, lots of fun.
Fri, Feb 3, 2012 Haute Dog San Francisco - a runway fashion show at the San Francisco Design Center, San Francisco CA.
San Francisco’s most fashionable pooches
- including several Longhaired Whippets - will strut their stuff on the catwalk, (or is it dogtrot?) as they
showcase couture outfits designed specifically for them by some of the
Bay Area’s most prominent interior designers, and with oh-so-fabulous
fabrics provided by the fabric showrooms of the San Francisco Design
Center. Trust us, you’ll be howling with delight at the antics of these
doggie fashionistas.
Canine obsessives and fanatics will be able to shop Posh Pup Lane,
an emporium of doggie delights featuring unique canine products,
services, specialties and gift items for the pooch who has everything.
To cap it off, a silent auction will feature doggie experiences never
before witnessed in the annals of Dogdom. Be a bold bidder as we
support Canine Companions for Independence,
the event’s official charity and an organization that provides
highly-trained assistance dogs for children and adults with
disabilities. Come for a fun-filled evening complete with delish bites and tasty dogtails, err we mean cocktails.

Fri, Sat, Sun March 16-18 Reading Pet Expo, at the Greater Reading Expo Center, 2525 North 12th St, Reading PA 19605
This in a very popular and very well attended huge Pet Expo. The ILWC will have a booth at this event, where people will be able to meet Longhaired Whippets, and learn more about the breed. There is also an International Canine Kennel Club show at the event on Saturday and Sunday, and some of our LHWs will be competing. If you can come with your LHWs or would like to help out at the booth, or for more information on ILWC participation at the event, contact Pam Sleeper. April 27 - 28, 2012 Greyhounds In Gettysburg Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
The ILWC will be sharing a booth at this event, with "Hoblit House", Sidney Hoblit's pet supply shop, to introduce and talk to the public about Longhaired Whippets. GIG is a national 'Meet 'N Greet' primarily for ex-racing Greyhounds and their owners, with various social activities, educational seminars, entertainment, and *lots* of vendors, many of whom come with Whippet sized items! (There are always lots of gorgeous martingale collars and leads!)
Sidney always has quite a few of her LHW's with her in the shop, and several other LHW owners in the region come to the event. We always draw LOTS of attention and interest in our dogs, and have placed several dogs and sold several puppies to contacts made at GIG. Please come if you can, and be sure to stop in at our booth to say hello! (Look for the blue banner that says HOBLIT HOUSE'.)
